Alright. Let's start discussing some of the nominees.

'The Dark Knight' didn't get nominated for 'Best Picture,' which is kind of disappointing, but with the sudden influx of good films, I'm not that surprised. It's lost its momentum after a few months, and you can't underestimate the power of momentum when it comes to these award shows. My personal favourite is 'Slumdog Millionaire.' It's nominated for Best Picture, along with 'The Reader,' 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' 'Frost/Nixon' and 'Milk.' See review in the post below. It's also nominated for nine other categories (twice in Best Song, so a total of 11 nominations).

The three nominees for Best Song are:
Peter Gabriel - Down To Earth (Wall-E)
A.R. Rahman & M.I.A. - O... Saya (Slumdog Millionaire)
A.R. Rahman Feauturing Sukhwinder Singh, Tanvi Shah & Mahalaxmi Iyer - Jai-Ho (Slumdog Millionaire)
All three songs are immense, but I have to say my favourite is 'O... Saya.' It makes the opening scene of 'Slumdog Millionaire' from great to magical.
